On July 28, 2024, two pilots from Equatorial Guinea, Eduardo Nzamyo and Esono Eyang Benito, arrived in Prague to undertake the prestigious "Either Seat Training," which will qualify them for promotion to captain of the L 410 aircraft.
The pilots are from Equatorial Guinea, where two L 410-UVP E20 aircraft are currently in operation. This training, conducted under the guidance of Aircraft Industries and the training organization CATC, marked the first experience for both pilots with this type of program. The training lasted five weeks and was meticulously tailored to their prior experience.
The program included theoretical instruction, practical training on a single-engine aircraft, and simulator sessions, including instrument flight training, which was essential for meeting the legislative requirements for captain promotion. The final phase of the training took place on a fully motion-capable L 410 simulator and included intensive preparation for the captain's role, culminating in a final assessment. Both pilots successfully passed their final exams and met all the requirements necessary for promotion to captain.
The positive feedback on the training and the high level of customer care provided, which the pilots communicated to their headquarters, has led to discussions about further pilot training and expanding the collaboration to include L 410 mechanic training at Aircraft Industries.
